Want to learn how to rig from a professional VFX artist?

'Introduction to Rigging & Python' is one of a variety of short courses offered by Rising Sun Pictures Education. The short courses, taught by instructors who are working VFX professionals, are open to the general public and are run at night. They introduce participants to skills and software required to create world-class visual effects for live-action feature film.

The 10-week 'Introduction to Rigging & Python' course, designed for beginners, will run on Monday nights, starting on 9 July through to 10 September. Participants who have a basic knowledge of 3D software will find it advantageous, but it is not compulsory.

Rising Sun Picture’s Creature TD, Dilen Shah, who has worked on movies like Peter Rabbit, Tomb Raider and Thor: Ragnarok, among other films, will teach the course. He will help the class grasp a solid understanding of Rigging in Maya using Python scripting and create their own tool sets in this new short course. Projects will commence with planning and approach, with rigging a prop/character for a VFX environment, and then, preparing the rig for animation in a real world scenario.

The course is delivered in RSP's Training rooms, on Pulteney Street in Adelaide.
